Busy summer

.... I feel like I'm always apologizing for being behind, so what's new??

We have been quite busy lately, and the fun won't stop for another few weeks.  So here's a fun update on all of the busy happenings :)

-Today marks 9 weeks since Daniel lost his job.  Last week at this time, I wouldn't have had any updates except all of our leads were falling thru and we felt hopeless.  Fast forward just a few hours, and a job Daniel applied for with the government came back into the scene and he had a phone interview on Tuesday!  He did fabulous, and we should hear something by the end of the month!  Yay!  Just when times were getting tough and we felt like there was nothing positive.... this happened.  Funny how things work out sometimes :)

-On June 9th, Daniel's cousin Jeff got married
The newlyweds and their first dance

Super hot, but fun!
-Father's Day also happened to be my amazing Momma's birthday!  We had a fun-filled day hanging out by the pool followed by a scrumptious Shrimp Boil for dinner

-Bucket List item: go skydiving.  Yep, most people have that on their bucket list.  Tim McGraw sings about that being a "must-do" when you find out you are about to die.  Ashley & Daniel have both always wanted to go, and that was her #1 item on her graduation list.  So Georgia scooped up several skydiving Groupons, and I was shoved into the mix.  We had appointments early in the morning on June 30 up in DC, so we left Friday after work to spend the night with Susan.  We make it up there, despite some annoying traffic, and while being totally American and watching the Olympic Trials, a freak storm literally blanketed the state of Virginia.  We lost power in her apartment - apparently the first time since they've lived there - and wouldn't you know, they didn't have any candles or flashlights.  Pitch black.  Dark ages.  Well, not only did Susan's apartment lose power, but just about all of Northern Virginia.  Yep, you guessed it - we couldn't go skydiving.  Bummer.  Don't worry, we rescheduled for July 29th, so you will get to hear about it soon!

-The Fourth of July - a fun day that comes every year that's filled with alcohol and folks playing with fire.  This year, it was on Wednesday - seriously, what's the point?  Slightly annoying, but a day off nonetheless.  We went to the pool and did some grilling.  I decided not to see fireworks because I'm a grandma and like to sleep.

All-american girl... never seen anything cuter <3
